Health Certification

The puppy that you are purchasing from Patton Aussies is guaranteed healthy and free of communicable diseases, to the best of our knowledge, at the time you take possession of her. If the puppy, within 72 hours after the buyer takes possession, is found to be in poor health by a licensed veterinarian (internal and external parasites and kennel cough excluded) you must notify us within 72 hours with a written statement from your licensed veterinarian. Upon return of the puppy, registration papers, AND the written vet statement, the breeder agrees to refund the full purchase price paid to the Buyer, however, we reserve the right to have any diagnosis verified by our own veterinarian. Failure to send a written report within 72 hours of vet diagnosis will void this contract. THE BREEDER FORFEITS ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CONTINUING SAFETY AND WELL-BEING OF THE PUPPY, INCLUDING ANY AND ALL EXPENSES INCURRED, MEDICAL OR OTHERWISE, ONCE THE PUPPY HAS CHANGED POSSESION AND IS NO LONGER IN OUR CARE.

The puppy is guaranteed for 72 hours against infectious diseases such as Parvo, Corona, and Distemper from the date and time, you, the Buyer take possession of her. If your puppy is exposed to an infectious disease after it leaves here and becomes ill, it will not be covered under this health guarantee. Please pay particular attention to this if you have recently lost a dog or puppy to illness! We have no control over what your puppy will be exposed to after it leaves our home, however, because of their solid foundation of good health, good food, prior vaccinations, and lack of exposure, it is highly unlikely a puppy from us will contract a contagious disease. It is recommended that you, the Buyer, use common sense and not expose the new puppy to other puppies, take it to places a sick puppy has been within the past six months, or take it to public places until the puppy series of vaccinations has been completed. Be aware that vaccinations can sometimes fail for a number of various reasons and puppies do not actually develop full immunity to some diseases until they are a year old and have had all of their recommended vaccinations. All worming and vaccinations, including boosters, must continue on a regular basis or this contract will be void.

Your new puppy is guaranteed to be free from any significant (i.e. life-threatening or altering) congenital defects for one year from the date of birth. Our adult dogs are completely free of diseases, disorders, and/or health problems, and while this significantly decreases any chance that our puppies will ever develop such problems, it does not guarantee that they never will. If your puppy is found to have a congenital defect, you must supply us with your veterinarian's written report within 7 days of diagnosis. We reserve the right to have the diagnosis verified by our veterinarian. The puppy can then be exchanged, if the Buyer chooses, with another puppy (must be of equal value and same sex) as soon as one is available, and, in some cases, at the Breeders discretion, a full refund may be offered instead. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, the defective puppy must be returned before an exchange will be granted. Patton Aussies reserves the right to make the final determinations in regards to any conflicting information and/or disputes resulting from an exchange issue. However, such situations will always be handled fairly and equitably to all parties involved whenever possible. The breeder is not responsible for any expenses incurred.

Your puppy has been on a de-worming and vaccination schedule and is current at the time of possession. It is recommended that you schedule an appointment with your veterinarian as soon as possible and remember to bring your puppy’s health record with you to your first appointment. The Buyer agrees to take good care of the puppy and provide adequate food, water, housing, and medical care. Remember, puppies are babies! They need plenty of love, rest, love, fresh water, quality puppy food, love, a warm and dry place to sleep, exercise, and did I mention, love? No guarantee is made as to disposition, conformation, breeding ability, or color change. Our dogs are AKC registered. Breeder is bound by this agreement to original buyer only.

We have given your puppy lots of love, care, and attention. She will need the same attention from you!
